Internet Downtime

In Avanti’s 2010 research white paper Internet Criticality and Contingency, it was discovered that 42% of the 203 global IT decision-maker respondents had endured internet downtime in excess of four hours, 20% suffered more than 24 hours without service and 4% more than 72 hours.

For any company using the Internet to access hosted applications, the implications of these levels of downtime are horrifying. Indeed, 20% of companies admit they would not survive without working Internet access for a working week.
