Role Purpose

Avanti offers a suite of connectivity products via its fleet of high throughput satellites. Over the past 18 months, the company is focusing on market segments covering Telecom Carriers, Government (incl. Defence) and Industry. The connectivity products are evolving from best endeavour consumer broadband solutions to high performing customer specific enterprise solutions. Avanti Market success is dependent on continuous product innovation, high performance, easy to do business and competitive pricing.

As a Business solutions architect, you will own products and solutions, designing and developing them out, within our digital engineering team. Work closely with customer org and enterprise customers to review their business problems and drive out requirements for change, whether this is motivated by service assurance, optimizing operational efficiencies or enhancing customer journeys.  Our team covers a broad range of functional and technical domains where you will have the opportunity, and be expected, to grow your skill set and experience across a variety of these. We are looking for a proactive individual who is an experienced product owner, supporting engagements with clients, has a thirst to learn and is excited to support us in delivering solutions to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary bridge between the commercial organization and the technical delivery.
  • Build deep understanding of business requirements, personas, user journeys, business processes and customer experience
  • Leverage knowledge of connected industries to design and model solutions that are simple to understand, highly functional and simple to manage.
  • Bring the Digital First, Cloud First and Agile mindset to coach key stakeholders to problem solve in a way that reduces solution complexity and builds scalability.
  • Drive effective delivery and ensure key stakeholders are engaged in designing, adopting changes and retain accountability to maximize lasting benefits over the long term
  • Develop and manage the programme + solution backlogs for agile releases
  • Drive adherence to industry standards to reduce bespoke work and ease upgrades.
  • Challenging design decisions where appropriate and articulating improvements or amendments based on detailed understanding of business needs
  • Quality check and assure that delivered solution meets requirements.
  • Put customer experience at the core of thinking while designing digital solutions

  • Build relationships with customers and the customer-facing team to garner feedback, understand requirements and identify use-cases for the development of product offerings. Present products to internal and external customers at a senior level
  • Operating and overseeing workshops and meetings to manage stakeholder expectations and incorporates feedback and criticism into design
  • End-to-End hands on delivery including dictating use cases, prioritising workload in line with business value and coordinate sprints.
  • Define roadmap, success metrics and set expectations with all relevant stakeholders including engineering and internal leadership teams
  • Deliver documentation like HLD and LLD, SoW and PoC

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • Overall experience of at least 10 years.
  • Technology and process transformation in a Telco environment for at least 3 years.
  • Experience as a product owner, working in distributed scaled agile teams for at least 5 years.
  • Complex business process modelling for at least 6 years.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing customer journeys
  • Relevant years in a customer-facing (internal or external) technical role, influencing product design and/or direction
  • A “Driver” mindset – you are biased toward action, a great collaborator, a master disambiguator/simplifies, and constantly pushing toward clarity and delivery
  • Experience working with rules engines, digital technology platforms, workflow tools and of using tools like JIRA and Aha
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present and articulate solutions and requirements across various audiences across technical and non-technical business functions

Desirable

  • Past experience as a Product Manager or Technical Program Manager
  • Technical background
  • Telecom network solutions design and/or operations experience, 4G/5G solutions across Transport, SDN, virtual and cloud-native Core, OSS, BSS, Edge and RAN nodes.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the jobholder is required to perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the line manager from time to time.
